Job Description
The Regional Manager at Fortress Lenders Ltd is a strategic leadership role responsible for the overall profitability and operational health of a designated region. You will act as the bridge between Head Office strategy and branch-level execution, ensuring that the company expands its footprint while maintaining a high-quality loan book and a high-performance culture.
Key Responsibilities
Expansion & Strategy: Develop and execute regional implementation plans, including the establishment of new branch offices and identifying new market opportunities.
Partnerships: Seek and manage strategic business partnerships and local authority liaisons to drive regional presence.
Product Innovation: Conduct continuous market research and competitor analysis to participate in product reviews and enhancements based on market needs.
2. Loan Portfolio & Risk Management
Quality Control: Drive the growth of a quality portfolio by monitoring PAR (Portfolio at Risk) and strictly managing delinquency.
Credit Authority: Review and approve/decline high-value loan applications based on rigorous assessment results.
Collection Discipline: Ensure 100% collection efficiency by monitoring loan performance and conducting "surprise" field visits to collection points and client businesses.
3. Leadership & Performance Management
Team Development: Recruit, coach, and mentor Branch Managers and staff. You are responsible for "hand-holding" branch leadership to ensure maximum productivity.
Performance Tracking: Set and monitor clear targets for active borrowers and disbursement; execute performance management plans and conduct appraisals.
Culture: Champion the organization’s core values and culture, ensuring a cohesive and professional work environment across all branches.
4. Compliance & Reporting
Operational Integrity: Ensure 100% adherence to lending policies, regulatory requirements, and standard operating procedures.
Reporting Excellence: Prepare and present timely, reliable, and comprehensive daily, weekly, and monthly reports regarding collection and portfolio performance.
Audit Readiness: Manage regional budgets and oversee preparations for internal and external audits to ensure zero high-risk findings.
Requirements
Professional certification (e.g., CPA, Credit Management, or Project Management) is an added advantage.
Experience: Minimum 3 years in the Microfinance or Credit industry.
At least 3 years in a senior supervisory role (managing multiple branches or teams of 10+ staff).
Technical Skills: Deep understanding of Credit Risk Analysis and recovery processes.
Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and Core Banking Systems (CBS).
Strong financial reporting and budgeting skills.
Soft Skills: High emotional intelligence, conflict resolution, and the ability to travel extensively within the region.
